Second Opinion Assessments

As part of my role as a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at Insight Physiotherapy and Pain Options, I conduct second opinion assessments on work injured patients who have been attending other physiotherapists for treatment. These patients are often not improving with their current management or there are queries regarding the direction of treatment needed. This assessment process is usually instigated by the Insurance body.

In addition to seeing compensable patients for second opinion assessments, I am also involved in seeing private patients for second opinion assessments. These assessments can also involve the treating physiotherapist who is welcome to attend the assessment. The purpose of these assessments is not for me to keep the patient and have them attend treatment with myself! Rather the aim is to assist the patient and treating physiotherapist in ensuring the correct direction of treatment for the patient. The patient then continues treatment with their current physiotherapist!
